PRODUCERS NOTE

In a world of fake news and information overload, it has never been more important for young audiences to reflect critically and question what they receive. Scope of the Universe is an ambitious animated miniseries that combines science, philosophy and storytelling to spark curiosity, reflection and wonder in audiences aged 12+.

Series creator and director Anja Mánou Hellem’s lifelong fascination with the mysteries of the universe drives the project’s vision. Her strong background in children’s storytelling, brings both imaginative ambition and an authentic voice to the series. As a female-led Nordic project from a smaller production territory, the series contributes to greater creative and geographical diversity within Europe.

As a producer, I am committed to bold, high-quality storytelling for young audiences. Supported by executive producer Eirik Smidesang Slåen’s expertise in international financing and co-productions, LØV Film is building its first fully animated series on a strong creative and strategic foundation.

Since joining the CEE Animation Workshop in 2025, the project has received significant international recognition, receiving a Special Mention at the CEE Animation Forum pitch and the Best Science Project Award at M:brane in Malmö in 2026. Regional development funding writer’s room featuring Canneseries award-winner Christopher Pahle, astrophysicist and science communicator Eirik Newth, and series creator Anja Mánou Hellem.

Our growing creative team also includes acclaimed art director Nikolai Lockertsen, composer Stein B. Svendsen, and character designer Nima Shahinian from Nåva Space. Through our established co-production partnership with Czech company Bionaut, the project is strategically designed to foster a strong European collaboration across development, financing, and production.

We aim for a Nordic broadcaster premiere (NRK/SVT/YLE), alongside international distribution across linear, streaming and educational platforms. With an estimated budget of €2.5 million, the financing plan combines broadcasters, Nordic and European public funding, co-production incentives, and private investments. A LOI from international sales agent Monster Entertainment further confirmes the project’s potential and international market viability.

The series fills a market gap for intellectually engaging, visually striking content for the often underserved 12+ audience. Scope of the Universe combines cinematic storytelling with science-driven exploration to deliver a distinctive and internationally relevant contribution to youth animation.
