DIRECTORS NOTE

My goal for the series is to inspire young people, encouraging them to be curious about the world we live in and the possibilities of what we do not yet understand. Scope of the Universe aims to spark a new generation of scientists and build a pan-European foundation of knowledge for youth, supporting a sustainable and shared future. In a time where teens are no longer confined to their local communities, but communicating across boarders on an everyday basis,  I believe them deserving of stories that foster a collaborative, global perspective.

At a time when space is at risk of becoming another arena of competition and division, it is urgent to remind ourselves, and especially the next generation,  that the universe is our shared heritage.

History shows that some of the greatest scientific breakthroughs were made by young, daring minds. Our ability to think freely and challenge conventions peaks early in life. Einstein developed general relativity before 26, and the founders of quantum physics made their defining discoveries in their twenties, with seeds planted in their teenage years. My hope is that Scope of the universe can be an accelerator of youthful curiosity, and intellectual rebellion.

Having worked with children and young audiences for over a decade, I know well that today’s youth are restless and selective in how they consume content. They love diving into details, spotting “easter eggs,” and discovering things no one else has noticed. They want to explore the program, not have it handed to them. It should feel as if they’ve stumbled upon something hidden and special.

I come from a background in dance and music, documentary and live action, combined with a deep passion for science, philosophy, and animation. My goal is to create an experience that is high-end across all these areas, music, visuals, science, and philosophy. Making each one strong and impactful on its own.

To meet the ambition of its visuals and ensure the work remains scientifically rigorous in an ever-changing world, I have collaborated closely with astrophysicist Eirik Newth from the earliest ideas, and we continue to update the series together. For animation, I am seeking a co-director experienced in 3D or hybrid 2D/3D techniques.
